The Messiah Choral Society of Grand Junction was founded in August of 2004 to present an annual performance of Handel’s classic oratoria, Messiah. The concert is offered each Easter Sunday as a musical gift to the Grand Valley community by members of the Messiah Choral Society and its donors. Admission to the concert is free of charge. This year’s concert will be performed at the Grand Junction High School Auditorium, 1400 N. 5th St, on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 at 2:30 pm. Informance at 1:45 pm. Messiah is widely regarded as a musical masterpiece. Written in 1741 it has stood the test of time being performed annually throughout the world. In addition to its musical excellence, Messiah tells the story of Christ in which many find spiritual renewal particularly on Easter Sunday. As in our previous performances, we endeavor to select soloists who are singing with us for the first time and will delight you with the unique and subtle differences each singer bring in telling this story.
